x36 Discovery Mode

Is there a source of information on the Discovery Mode in addition to the user manual that someone can direct me to?

One thing I'm trying to figure out is in the detail section after doing my first trunking discovery session. Some of the entries have Unit ID Numbers and some of the entries this is blank. (This was for a trunked P25 system).

Likely, if there is no UID in the field for that entry, the scanner may not have picked up the UID for that transmission. Perhaps the transmission was too short. Experienced this with the GRE PSR-800 as well. It's not a flaw. Also, if several radios pop up on the same recorded transmission, it can be difficult to ascertain which radio is being identified. Especially if they key up at the same time.

The unit ID won't be captured if the scanner stops on a transmission while in progress, at least for EDACS systems. The ID is only displayed on initial key-up.
