• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I’ve assigned user alias for radios ID’s however the aliases are not showing up only the radio ID’s are when the radio receives. I’ve tried and tried to figured out what setting I’m missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to assign the individual call set in the system options

I'm not exactly sure, I don't have nearly 255 entries in my ICALL/Alias list

Where do you see user alias list?

Do you have a Harris sr10a core? The UAS should push aliases automatically to xl radios on top of p25 audio. No need to program anything in the radio.

Can you please elaborate on this? We have a 10A4+ and would like to do this, but only the RID shows up on the screen of the radio. Voice End User and Subscriber Units are fully populated with the names that we want to display.

It's actually an sr10a.7 feature. The MASTR V's at each site have to be running r19 code, but basically there's a UDP port that it opens and pulls the UAS alias in addition to the radio ID. If you look in rpm2 there's an option for 'Prioritize In-Band Alias'. If you tick that box it will hold off on displaying the radio ID and only display the alias. All XL model radios support this feature.

Edit: just for clarity, it displays the UAS alias for the voice end user

Just adding that the aliases do show up on the consoles, but the radios themselves.
This is also true, symphony consoles will display the radio ID for sr10a cores. Like I said above, sr10a.7 and r19 BBM code will get you radio aliases on all XL radios as well.

Where is "Prioritize In-Band Alias"? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Can somebody explain what the user alias list is for in RPM2? Unfortunately the agencies I’m monitoring do use the function mentioned above. So I have to manually enter the ID’s.
