XTS 5000 programming

Hi guys.... I just received a XTS5000 and am wondering what I need to program it... its set for certain frequencies now, but I want to change the words on the main screen... Do I need software for this, or can I do this manually on the radio? Any information is greatly appreciated...

Astro25 CPS software from Motorola. It's about $300 once you have been approved for a Motorola Online Account and they have approved your license agreement.

Then you need a Radio Interface Box (RIB), about $200 plus the cables which are about another $150.

You can go with an Ebay ribless type of cable for about $30. They work well. I have one and have had no problems. However, you still need the software.


It gets pricey real quick.

wow, I didn't realize it was this much... I just want to change the main screen words to personalize the radio... I guess I will leave it alone... thanks for the info... its greatly appreciated...
