I also have an FPP XTS5, out of a stable of several in several different bands. I gave me fits until I figured out how to make it work. I made Zone 1 FPP, and use it rarely to add a channel on the fly. The other 15 zones are non-FPP and work like a champ. It took me several days and some research to figure out that you MUST have at least one zone set to FPP if the radio has the option.
Only drawback is no trunking on an FPP radio, but I don't need trunking on VHF anyway, so no big....
