I am interested in buying a BCD396T and two BCD996t's I also joined theBCD396T group. The problem I am having is I can't post to any of these groups but other people can . how can i get my questions answered if I am going to have to wait for someone to read my post before he will post it. I feel I am being treated like some kid. I am 51 years old and have been a member of many Yahoo groups and never have i been treated like this. Can someone help me please

I run 13 Groups and they were being spammed to death, so HAD to "moderate" new members until they had posted a few (2-3) legitimate (non-spam) messages.

So he is in the same boat - he's not treating youl like a kid, just following the group procedure. - a necessary one..

You sent me a private message saying that you had asked your questions. However, I see no posts in the Uniden forum from you in the last month or so. I do see a post from you in the New User/Getting Started forum which was answered by a couple of people.

If you have questions about Uniden scanners, this is the place to ask.

I just checked again, and the problem isn't that your posts are being moderated (all new users posts are moderated for a while to limit spam). The problem is that your posts are not being received at all. What method are you using to post? If you are emailing to the group, make sure you are using the correct email address: <model>@yahoogroups.com

Try posting to one of the "XT" groups right now from the web form:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BCD396XT/post

If that doesn't go through, I can't imagine what the issue could be.

Private messaging “defeats” the whole point of asking for help in group forum. ;)
The search function might even yield an answer with having to ask anything.

Ask here, I sure get lots of opinions, and maybe even a few pulling for the other guys, depending on what you do to with the scanners.

Right now, with the BCD396XT out, that one is definitely worth a look or two.

Yahoo! Groups is a public messaging medium for such queries. Has the benefit of being a limited topic delivered by email. However, I couldn't really say whether I prefer that over RadioReference Forums...they seem to both have their places.

I agree, Yahoo with the "personal" delivery saves time and is easier...
Either one, IMHO, though too many people want a "private" answer for stuff, and that deprives the community of learning and the questioner of receiving collective wisdom from the “community.”

I mean I always learn something that’s not found in the manual from here and Yahoo.

I agree (read my signature). :)

kd5pqd: I had replied to your email to the Yahoo! BCD396XT Group Moderator. I got a bounce message back today that delivery to your email address failed. I see from the bounce message that you seem to have a typo in the email address you used to register in that group (^^^@vorizon.net instead of verizon.net). Fix your account settings on that group and you should be able to properly use the account.

I also see that you successfully registered (using a valid email address) and posted on the BC346XT board. Welcome to the boards!
