What is DPS using for CLE and Narcotic's Operations? It used to be 155.5050 and the 159.0975 but both of those are now THP/TLE Repeaters. 155.5050 is now 155. 5125 and for me, is the Paris repeater for S. Springs. Region-1 in the DB shows a PL for the old assignments (155.5050 & 159.0900) Are these (in 25Khz.) still used for Narcotics and CLE?

The last time I heard CLE traffic on 155.505 they were still on analog. That was sometime last year. I would like to know myself. I used to hear a lot of helicopter assisted surveillance there as well.

I have been hearing 155.505 in P25 with NAC 162 exclusively, in both the clear and what I guess is encryption, usually mixed together as if someone doesn't realize their radio isn't secure, and the content of the clear transmissions is usually surveillance. From what I can tell, the units have to be within a few miles of me to be able to hear them. I've never heard anything on 159.09 though.

Here in Mineral Wells I have heard them use 155.505, 159.09, 155.46, 155.445 all simplex P25 with encryption some of the time. Before the digital switchover they used the local 159.09 repeater at times. I haven't heard the repeater in probably a year or more and don't know if it is still analog or if it is even still there.

Alright, Thanks. this gives me something to work with. I'll listen to 155.5050 in both P25 and Analog. Thanks again!

I listened to a surveillance op one time on 155.5050 in both analog and P25. It lasted a few hours and they seemed to be able to hear each other just fine. The CT was 162.2 on the analog (and I imagine 162 NAC for the digi guy- though my 96 wouldn't do NAC decoding).

I get periodic traffic on CLE 155.505 NAC: 162 and Fannin Sheriff still use CLE with a 162.2 PL for Investigations. 159.0900 NAC: 162 seems to get active in Dallas a lot also. One thing I have noticed is you really need a good outdoor antenna to get any CLE traffic.

I think most of their communications are simplex. The few times I've heard them(or at least the times they were unencrypted) I was hearing locations called out only a few miles from where I was, but as they(and/or I) moved away, the signal was gradually lost.

They use repeaters around here. I think they have a 155.505 repeater here in either Navasota or Anderson that is not technically licensed. When they go to talking, which is not all that often, it comes in 100%, no static. And that was when it was analog! Although it could just be a very, very strong signal from College Station.

Agreed - bout the only time I know there working CLE is when I hear 101 calling out locations. Rarely can I ever hear the mobile unless there kicking doors close by. Dallas used to have a repeater for CLE at Cedar Hill but I don't think its used in full duplex anymore.

Another Texas DPS Question

I've been hearing a lot of traffic in Kaufman County on 154.95. Mostly I hear 101, but occasionally I hear the ground units. Apparently I have quite a few unlicensed pharmacies in my area.
