Now that units are being sent in and are being returned, can we all please get some feedback on how the repair program is going?
Obviously, it may be a bit too early for any definitive information on the success of the RTC or dimming problems. So more general information would be nice. Give us all some idea on how long your unit took to repair. What was the turn-around time?
Did you receive your unit back in as good a condition as when you sent it in? No scratched cases or display screens?
There were one or two early reports that some of the bulbs used to illuminate the display had a slightly different tint overall. In one case, I believe that a person reported that half of his display looked bluish and the other half looked a bit lighter--- I believe that the individual concerned was going to follow up with Uniden on that issue.
I also believe that only the 536 units were being called in at this time, but if anyone has a report on a 436, please share that with us as well. Was your unit experiencing the issues already, or did you send in a unit that was not yet experiencing these issues as a preventive measure and did Uniden do the repairs?
Let's try to keep this thread on track for those who have already sent in and received back their units. Thanks to those for sharing this information.
