zadig problems

Trying to get sdr# setup for the first time. I plugged in my dongle and go to zadig. select list all devices but nothing shows up for the 2832 dongle. the list shows the following options:

basic mouse
unknown device #1
mtp
cdc serial
samsung_android
usb reader
usb keyboard 0
usb keyboard 1

i tried "unknown device #1" but it still dont show as a usable device in sdr# when i choose rtl-usb

Any ideas?

might want to try a different usb port and make sure it's usb 2.0...I read somewhere that usb 3.0 ports don't always play nice.

It turns out the dongle is dead. I suspected this from the start since the LED wouldnt light up. Oh well....I guess I'll save for the nooelec one.
