Pro-668: zip code not found

my new pro 668 zip code feature is not working it is saying zip code not found it was working before I used the soft ware to download to the scanner also select place is not showing anydata for state city and zip codes

Also my key pad is lighted and I can not turn off .how do you turn off the lighted key pad?

Reset back to factory default, and start over

Pro-668: zip code not found

For the keypad and display light you need to do the following:
Press Menu
Down arrow to Settings and press the right arrow
Down arrow until you get to LModeBat=Controls light mode when on battery
LModeEXT=Controls light mode on external power
LiteArea = Controls what is lights up when light is on like LCD only, Keybd or
both on or both off. If you want the LCD on but he keyboard off right arrow to
select the LCD setting. When done press the Menu key to exit settings and the
play/pause button to save the setting.
LiteTime=How long the light stays on after pressing a button
LiteLevel=Controls how bright the light is.
Note that if you set the light on external or battery to on it will override the LiteTime setting. If you set the external or battery setting to normal the LiteTime setting will work.

As for your other question about the zip code not working have you installed the software on a computer and updated the newest database from the web and then loaded the updates into the scanner?

According to what he told me, the light stays on, even with the scanner turned off. Unless he is using a charger, or connected to his PC, I don't see how that could be possible

scroll down till you see " place select" put a check in it then hit save changes now you should be able to scann by ZIP CODE HAPPY SCANNING

go to menu ----settings scroll down till you see " LITEAREA" HIT ARROW TO RIGHT-----> were you are is you hit the pointer once now you have keypad light only on! HIT AGAIN now BOTH ARE LIT UP TOP AND BOTTOM hit again and your on LCD scroll down till it jumps to save changes that's it HAPPY SCANNING

Many thanks for the help. Radio shack switched out the scanner for me. I tried everything the keypad was on even with the scanner turned off. Nice little scanner for under 200.
