You should no longer need to set hold time to 255 (or some other long value) to prevent the housekeeping cycle.
How awesome is this! I had two Favorite Lists for the same system because sometimes I would scan it by itself and sometimes I would scan it with other stuff. No more 255 second hold times! (y) No more upkeep of two separate scan lists. Thanks Paul & Uniden!

Changed housekeeping off while scanning one site and detecting its control channel (drop in signal every 2 seconds).

I beg of you, please see that this bit trickles down to the x36HP and 325/996P2 firmware. It is very much relevant to those models!

I feel like the Analog sensitivity has gone down in the last two firmware's. Side by side with my 536 the 536 us stopping on channels that the sds200 just scans by. Still needs more fine tuning.

Maybe squelch is impacting your difference. Some settings on different models might give you different results.

I sure hope Uniden fixes that humming noise on the SDS-200 eventually. I want it to sound like NOTHING like the BCD996P2 and all the previous versions do. After the the last firmware fix and the shielding parts shipped out that humming noise is still present during conversation.

A still a little annoying especially for a 700 dollar scanner.

Seriously just get rid of what you own then It is your cash not withstanding. Sell now and buy another p2. Uniden supplied parts and firmware update mitigated most of the problems that being said take a video of how the unit does now. Listening to the Proscan feed you provide audio is crisp and clear and I highly enjoy it. But again you bought it you own if not happy with it sell it.

It has been stated that they have done pretty much all they can do. The likelihood of any further fixes is slim to none. On that note if it bothers you so much either sell it or get a refund.

Can you point me to that statement? I forsee a few more fixes coming up depending on the model. Copy and paste a link that says further fixes are slim to none.

There is a certain amount of CPU noise that I don't think can be removed. For some reason it doesn't bother me at all, but I think that's what some are hearing and being bothered by. You can actually hear it boot up through my external speaker. I've seen vids posted of that noise, and I'm pretty sure that UPman has stated that this is considered normal.

Hearing the hum after mitigation part (assuming well installed) depends on listeners age and listening environment. Even then, for most the hum is completely unapparent from more than a couple of feet away (but if you have very good hearing at those frequency ranges, it could be farther). We continue to study additional ways to improve this, but it is not likely that any future improvement would be able to be made retroactively.

I should add to this that there is no guarantee that we will ever find anything else to change in production. I would not predicate a current purchase on a vague possibility.

Who is UpMan and why doesn't he answer my email/phone call? SDS200 is real! But, what is it?

OK but still point me to saying other fixes will not happen.

I wouldn't hold my breath but anything is possible.

And other fixes meaning other than "Hum" I'm completely convinced more fixes will come out for the SDS line. As for the hum I believe the statement pretty much says short of a complete change in production nothing further can be done retroactively.

I agree with everything you have stated. It all makes sense at this point. The last firmware upgrade was the best that could be achieved for this production line.

How do we know it’s the best
