1.7upload problem

When i try uploading the new 1.7 firmware i cant upload because my scanner tells me that its waiting for PC/IF I dont know whats wrong . A while back i downloaded a new driver ,could this be my problem and how do i fix it? thanks paul1

Do you have the right comport? Also make sure you turn the scanner on while pressing program.

i had same prob. somehow had 2 applications of of the same upgrade. go back and check on recently downloaded area and see if the same for you. if so try using both.. one didnt work for me but the second one did. sorry i cant write well to explain what im talking about

One other thing once you turn it on and press program check to see which boot version you have. There are two different versions on the update.

I had the same issues. Finally got it to go.

Ok guys I tried all of your suggestions one at a time and finally after trying a second download with the same file name it loaded properly . thanks for the help Paul1

The instructions do point out what program to use with your radio version. Both programs are included in the zip file, as are the instructions.

Instructions are simple:

This is a CPU upgrade. Please check the radio’s boot loader version “uP Boot Ver:F1.n” by pressing “PGM” (PSR-500) or “PROG” (PSR-600) before turning on the radio’s power switch. The exe file required to successfully upgrade the radio depends on the radio’s boot loader version. For example, if your radio displays “uP Boot Ver:F1.0” then please use the upgrader file named “CPU500600BootF10F11_U17.exe”. If your radio displays “uP Boot Ver:F1.3” then please use the
upgrader file named “CPU500600BootF14_U17.exe”. If you use the incorrect upgrade exe application, your radio will not be harmed, but the upgrade will not complete successfully.

What do you do if your scanner has NEITHER boot version?

I've been able to upload and install every previous upgrade to my scanners without a problem.

My com port is fine, everything is fine, but it will not upload the upgrade to the scanner.

It keeps telling me the scanner is not communicating with the computer.

What boot version do you have? There are only two out there.

Make sure the control channel output and DSP output is turned off in your global settings.
