I was traveling thru Tennessee I65 back in 2018 and recorded a transmission on my Uniden, they talk about a reckless driver on state route 91.
a google search of that shows that 91 runs thru Johnson city Tn to the northeast.

RR db doesn't show the freq/NAC in its paid search

google says its the analog input to a Johnson co TN sheriff input freq

FCC advanced search doesn't show anything that i can link to it because i don't know the area.

anyone local know what this freq is, at least back in 2018 so i can update my dB?

I tried to attach the 8 second audio file, rr doesn't want to attach the wav, I even zipped it but the site doesn't see the zip for me to attach it, even when i select all files

I did a check using this site: There are no P25 listings in Tennessee for that frequency

interesting site. I did get a hit on SC for that freq but the FCC license says its narrowband analog, not P25

Given that you were on I-65, that dispatch mentions Highway 31 which parallels I-65, and that an officer mentions "Merchants Bank," that likely narrows down your area of interest to Lawrence, Maury, or Williamson County. However, there are no licenses for that frequency in those counties. I know there are some VHF TACN sites, but I would expect to find a license if this frequency were to be a part of that system.

To start with, that's a repeater output, not an input. Both sides of the conversation are loud and clear, obviously a repeater.

My guess is that it's Hanceville PD in Cullman County, Alabama. The 220 NAC matches their repeater output on 155.955. U.S. Route 31 intersects with State Route 91 in Hanceville, where there is a nearby Merchant's Bank.

wow, interesting. I googled Hanceville and see your references. i googled the distance between them and there must have been a band opening for it to be 159 miles. ill add it to my database

One frequency down, thousands to go, lol (this request could be one of thousands i could make with all the audio I'm sitting on)

thank you.

FYI that frequency/NAC combo is in the RRDB for Hanceville, the only matching result. In the future when looking things up, you should expand your search to the entire database if you don't find any matches within the state you first check. Only took me a minute or two to piece this together. 7 year mystery easily solved.

i pay for the extra service on RR and im very familiar for selecting entire DB and CSQ when searching RR. I don't know why it didn't come up. i re-searched and it came up. so yes had it come up for me originally, this post would not have existed. thank you for your help.
