Sweet and real clean

Can any of this get you in hot water if stopped by police in your state? It would in mine if not a cop, etc or ham radio operator.

In NC you do not have to be a licensed radio operator or police officer of any type. Just like anywhere, transmitting on unauthorized frequencies are a federal offense but nothing wrong or illegal here with having radios with public safety, ham, or other services programmed in, granted you are not violating any FCC rules and you're authorized to TX.

Very nice setup! I'm interested how you like the EEE PC sitting there? I am thinking about installing one in my Lancer (waaay smaller car), but am concerned about it encroaching upon the passenger's space. I've also been thinking about installing a touchscreen in my dash, and mounting the laptop remotely as an alternative.

This is my recent install on a 2005 Ford Explorer Limited. I was also assisted by Wes, fcfd988, with the first part of the install, and this would not have been possible without his expertise! The truck is my POV and I use it mostly to assist in my photography.

Equipment Installed:

Jotto Desk Contour Console
Motorola CDM1250 UHF (Console)
Motorola CDM1550LS+ 220mhz (Console)
Kenwood TK-7180 VHF (Console)
Pyramid SVR-200U UHF Repeater (Console)
Uniden BCD996T Scanner (Dash)
Motorola Maxtrac B7 800mhz (Rear ATCS MCP Radio)
Motorola Maxtrac B7 900mhz (Rear ATCS BCP Radio)
Motorola XTS Vehicle Charger
Motorola Astro Saber Vehicle Charger

The laptop is an Asus EeePC 900, which I am testing to see how well it does in a mobile environment before I decide if I want to mount a much larger Toughbook in the car. It is mounted to a custom mount that I built from a Panavise arm and Aluminum.

I apologize for the quality of the last two pictures, they were taken with a cell phone camera during the install process.

Very nice and professional!! If your up for a road trip on August 15th I'll be hosting a railfan gathering on Saturday August the 15th here in Montgomery, AL. PM me your email and I'll send more details if your interested.

Thanks for sharing.
