This is so cool!!!!

If you have any recordings of clear audio on the Turkish stuff private message me - same with those English language signals which I cant help with - but assume they are military.

Late night, so here's yesterday's captures from Southern California. BCD996P2, Diamond CP-610, ProScan.

31.640118.8UnknownUnknownSomeone making mouth noises.
35.140156.7WRFM852Lee Cardice, Monticello, Florida"WRFM852 to 111". This is the hobbyist guy. Gave full callsign!
31.480CarrierUnknownUnknown"When we're back in the truck we'll let you know."
31.300151.4UnknownUnknownBroken base station again, full PL this time. State of GA/KY?
35.060110.9UnknownUnknownMore foul language, rambling conversation, trucking-type.
31.960107.2UnknownUnknown"Turn around in the driveway". Trucking?
33.760151.4KEX264Imperial VFD, Clinton, PAFrequency/PL/Traffic
33.820CarrierKDQ223East Brunswick, NJ Fire DispatchFrequency/No PL/Traffic. Been a while for this one.
33.740CarrierKYL829King William Co, VA Fire/EMSFrequency/No PL/Traffic
33.980CarrierKGD259Warren Co, PA Fire DispatchFrequency/No PL/Traffic
33.680CarrierKBH343Morgan Co, OH Fire DispatchFreq/No PL/Traffic, dispatcher gave callsign. Paging test.
33.86077.0KGC676Washington Co, MD Fire DispatchFreq/PL/Traffic
33.900136.5KGB393Radnor Twp, PA Fire DispatchFreq/PL/Traffic. Fighting with Noble County.
33.900CarrierKNFQ946Noble County, OH Fire DispatchFreq/No PL/Traffic. Fighting with Rador Twp.
33.88082.5KQH904Licking Co, OH Fire DispatchFreq/PL/Traffic

Man it was a fight between Radnor Twp, PA and Noble County today. Lots of heterodynes. Rather amusing. While I'm sure they can't hear each other, I sure could out here!

I'm swapping scan steps from AUTO to 20kHz as thats the US spacing, most of the environmental noise occurs on odd frequencies, hopefully this will help get rid of some of that.

AS ALWAYS, HELP WITH THE UNKNOWNS IS APPRECIATED FOR EVERYONE'S BENEFIT!

Could not believe what I heard today...a time division Vericrypt 1100 or Cryptophon 1100 scrambler transmission. These devices are around 45 years old.
Read up on them here: Vericrypt 1100 Cryptophon 1100
And here is the sound file, found on 33.6MHz, southern England SDR. SndUp | Post Info
Incredible.

Out of a time when Christopher Cross was riding like the wind, in 1979:

Incredible.
I suddenly want a pair of those. Here's Warren County, PA paging Scandia Fire, you can hear them answer with the fire siren on the roof of the station going (that is NOT an apparatus, that's the house siren heard all over that township I'm sure).

Built like tanks for sure. Wow.
It is fascinating what they write in the provided links about these devices.

Considering its age, the Cryptophon 1100 is extremely well built. Only first class components and PCBs are used. The units consists of three main PCBs, all mounted on an extendible frame.

Just thought I'd post some photos of my setup for logging. This is used exclusively for VHF-Lowband. Probably massively overkill, but I had this stuff laying around doing absolutely nothing. Just disconnected the antenna from my Syntor X9000 and plugged it in to the scanner.

Hope someone finds this interesting. The other equipment is for the LAN, timing, and a UHF repeater.
