That is a Diamond CP610 10/6 meter dual band ground plane. I am EXTREMELY pleased with it, and would recommend it to anyone wanting to play with those bands, or VHF-Low in general. It's worth every penny. And if you use a lowband Syntor X9000 like I do, you get 10 and 6 in one radio, and it pairs nicely with that antenna.@d119 what antenna are you using in that pic? Also whats the box next to switch with yellow trim?

Man it was a fight between Radnor Twp, PA and Noble County today. Lots of heterodynes. Rather amusing. While I'm sure they can't hear each other, I sure could out here!
I'm swapping scan steps from AUTO to 20kHz as thats the US spacing, most of the environmental noise occurs on odd frequencies, hopefully this will help get rid of some of that.
AS ALWAYS, HELP WITH THE UNKNOWNS IS APPRECIATED FOR EVERYONE'S BENEFIT!

Incredible.
Out of a time when Christopher Cross was riding like the wind, in 1979:
Freaking cool. Reminds me of “Fire at the Johnson residence “ back in the 80s. Lakes Region, NHI suddenly want a pair of those. Here's Warren County, PA paging Scandia Fire, you can hear them answer with the fire siren on the roof of the station going (that is NOT an apparatus, that's the house siren heard all over that township I'm sure).

Freaking awesome dude.Just thought I'd post some photos of my setup for logging. This is used exclusively for VHF-Lowband. Probably massively overkill, but I had this stuff laying around doing absolutely nothing. Just disconnected the antenna from my Syntor X9000 and plugged it in to the scanner.
Hope someone finds this interesting. The other equipment is for the LAN, timing, and a UHF repeater.

I call BS on the gain figures, but besides that, I really like this antenna.

Thanks. I was writing it down and thinking it wasn't right. That's CHP Green 1 (Capistrano) repeater output. Correct PL should be rounded up, it's 162.2Hz. I recognize it from the roads mentioned, it's in Orange County, SoCal.
Just worked WA4PXV in N. Carolina on 29.600. Not bad.Thanks. I was writing it down and thinking it wasn't right.
