Heard a few I haven't heard in a while today. Wasn't great, signal quality for most of them was down from what it usually is. Sure wish I knew which IDOC site I'm hearing on 37.360. It was LOUD.

The military traffic on 35.000 was strange. Receiver said it had a 151.4Hz PL, so that obviously correlates with 150.0. Female stating "One with severe head trauma, one with severe leg trauma, coming from BSA (VSA?) Over. Ambulance coming in 10 Mikes, Over" Use of the terms "Mikes" and "Over" along with the 150.0Hz tone tells me it's military, still, weird traffic. Any thoughts?

Note 1: Like others, I've heard no voice traffic on this frequency. I believe this to be WPLP676, Western Municipal Water District out of Riverside County, CA. It's a loud, stable signal in Southern California with no fading/noise I would expect from a more distant signal. I know others have noticed this same frequency/DPL combination with "buzz saw" noises, etc. It's a repeater, and it's got a self-interference issue, which is why you're hearing buzz saw sounds and other weird non-voice stuff. Other than the signal quality, I have nothing else to go on. I could very well be completely wrong (THAT NEVER HAPPENS!), if someone else knows better, please let a fella know!

37.020 / 192.8 was pretty loud here for the couple of transmissions I caught. I'm used to hearing West Milford, NJ on that frequency at 146.2, but this was something else at 192.8. "This'll take us about 30 minutes to get up there, but as long as it's working, go ahead and carry on. Where will you be parked?" Gent sounded like he had a southern accent. All but one of the licensees on this frequency (current and expired), are PW. The one IG is still a municipality. Wonder who...?

So this is actually Rim of the World USD school busses, not San Bernardino County Schools. Rim of the World is unique in that they are in a very, very unusual place that is *VERY* elevated. If you look up Heaps Peak in San Bernardino county, they are essentially right next to it. That's a good part of the reason you heard them so clearly and so often. 6400 feet ASL baby!

Note 1: Actually heard voice traffic on this frequency, guy saying "check" or "test" or something and whistling into the microphone. Came through later in the day than most LB traffic from distant locations normally does, this does enforce my thought that it's local to SoCal.

Quite a day today, Morgan County, OH was so quieting (loud and clear) that it blew my doors off. Incredible signal from them today.

Note 1: Actually heard voice traffic on this frequency, guy saying "check" or "test" or something and whistling into the microphone. Came through later in the day than most LB traffic from distant locations normally does, this does enforce my thought that it's local to SoCal.

Quite a day today, Morgan County, OH was so quieting (loud and clear) that it blew my doors off. Incredible signal from them today.

I’m happy to help anytime. I add a zero “31.0600” and that usually turns up more results.

OK, for the record, I reached out to their radio system manager and received the following response:

I do manage radio systems for Wintergreen. We no longer utilize low-band. Everything we do (Police,Fire, Rescue, Public Works) utilizes VHF. Wintergreen Resort uses UHF with trunking. All low-band equipment has been removed.

So... that's someone else on 31.24/136.5.
