246 charging port

anyone ever have a problem with the charging port on the 246 t. recently i noticed that my 246 is not holding a charge. i replaced the batteries and got the same result. i finally found that when my charging cable is inserted, it is not charging the batteries. as i am sitting here it is plugged in, and beeping. anyone have any advice or info about how to fix it.

you could get a seperate charger for the batteries, lots of folks say they work better ...

can you check the tip of the ac adapter with a dmm to see if there is voltage?

Did you check the switch inside the battery compartment is set to allow recharging?

yes have had the scanner for the last two years, and it just started now kinda weird

Does the scanner operate on the AC adapter with the batteries removed?

well like you said works like a charm. thank you, was pretty upset considering my 246 is my basically all-around scanner, and it died randomly after i had it plugged in.
