Does anyone know what this is ? (I am able to hear what seems to be a
link channel for Fire dept somewhere in Wash state, Whatcom /Skagit county maybe) I hear this from Van BC huge signal up here, definately sounds like fire tactical comm's, looking through FCC ALS does not reveal the obvious.(have not heard the callsign)....

Does Western Washington University in Whatcom County have a Fire Training School?

WWU is licensed on that frequency with FCC Callsign of KXN642

That might be it. If they have a Fire Training Academy, they might be doing live training exercises for class.

A quick look at the courses offered by that university show it is geared for the studies of commerce/enterprise not the sciences. I saw that license too but was not leaning towards it ! I was hoping to hear from someone in the state who can hear it as well !
