This is how I solved the toggle problem...

2502.ctl
----------------------------
;;[Settings]

System Type = 2

SysID #1 = 03A5h

SysID #2 = 2502h

Trunk88.ctl
--------------------------------------

03A5+2502, "2502.CTL"

Thanks, I'd tried that, it puts everything in one set of files, but it's still swapping the channel/site display ever few seconds. If it helps any, the new version also displays site "-87" for 2502, and says "Sysid 03a5 is invalid".

After some thought, I realized the cleanest way to get the full OSW file is to use 4.86.

Site 2502-02 runs stable. Site 2502-09 jumps between site 09 and -87. Strange? I really do not know what is going on over at the Lazy-B Airplane Ranch. Ever since they started running 03A5 it has played with Trunk88.

But 488 is still a great improvment!

A couple of hypotheses.

1) The SysID has been reassigned, but the entire system has not been reprogrammed yet.

2) The system is being converted to MotoTRBO or something else and is still operating in dual modes.

All outstanding issues have been resolved in 4.88E.

This nonsense crops up when Motorola installs SmartZone to Project 25 bridges. Either someone misconfigures something, or their gear has bugs. Either way, it's typical Motorola stupidity - it's not like the bogus data is that hard to detect.

No. 03A5 is not a valid SmartZone system ID.

Project 25 would be my guess.

This isn't the first time Andy has dealt with a wonky system.
Every Motorola system is wonky. Every last one does Stupid Schlidt.

On a very separate note; I'm excited to see this much activity from Andrew. Welcome back, man. We missed you.
I never left. Surely my posting history shows that.

As far as activity goes, this has been a fairly mild week compared to the last few months; headphone jack decoding didn't happen overnight...
