Both are on MARCS. Avon is TG 29515 and N. Ridgeville is TG 29540. No idea why multiple systems.
Probably political infighting. Group A (5 Cities) has come up with an effective local solution to their problems, Group B doesn’t like it because they’re not in charge, so they took their ball to a different court.
Yeah, the PD's want nothing to do with that system. Why the FD's tolerate it, I have no idea. Lorain FD is going back and forth, with some radios there and some on VHF, and it sounds like garbage. You can tell when someone is coming from that system and not VHF, cause it sound bad, often heavily broken and unreadable.
I don't know why they are bothering with that and not just using the existing VHF system in P25 mode. It would solve nearly all of their problems. Not to mention a ton cheaper.

Heard testing today on 4503 for Medina county. They referenced a Medina tower and a hole in Lodi. Is this expanding beyond Lorain county.
Hearing traffic on 4400 that sounds like it could be Wellington PD but need to hear a little more
