996XT Rec Out

Hello,
I just received my 996XT and am trying to record. I plugged into the 'REC OUT' on the rear of the radio and input that into the 'Line in' on my desktop. I cannot get anything to play or record. Using the 'Ext Speaker' works but not the 'Rec Out'. Am I missing a setting here or something?

There is a program setting for each frequency/talk-group that you need to set when you want the audio output to go to the Record Out jack. This allows you to pick and choose what gets recorded. I've never done it from the front panel of the radio itself, I've always uses software like ARC-XT, or ProScan.

For Conventional & Trunked Systems
Menu > Select System > Edit Sys Option > Set Record > All Channel

Otherwise you have to set Record to Marked Channel & you have to select which conventional frequencies and trunked radio talk group ID's you want to record.

This is the menu in the Radio, not proscan
