Will the Radio Shack A/C adapter (9V/300ma) that I have for my Pro-96 with Adapta-plug "C" work with a GRE PSR-500?
I had assumed the 9V/300ma adapter would be powerful enough to run the PSR-500 since it works fine with my PRO-96. I was more curious about whether the Adapta-plug "C" would fit the jack on the GRE. Thanks for the replies...
Ceasar is correct, it will not scan as fast as it would with the 500ma power source......if it is the same plug with the the same tip +/- and you have batteries in the radio you should not have any problem, but without batteries it will work, but it will be short on mA and might not function up to its full potential...
Is that also the case with the PRO-96? The local RS store sold me the 9V/300ma adapter for it several years ago and never said anything about scan speed and the size of the A/C adapter.Ceasar is correct, it will not scan as fast as it would with the 500ma power source......

Not necessarily. So apparently the PRO-96 operates at a lower power level. Interesting...
Oh well, I'll give it a try with the RS adapter and see what happens.
I need two adapters...one for home and one for the office. I was hoping to save the extra expense of buying a second adapter for the PSR-500.
