All these things become much easier if you just use FMP24. Or, at a minimum use FMP24 to get your setup running, confirm you can decode audio etc etc, then switch your audio source to whatever other program you are wanting to use.

There is no need to use all that extra garbage.
With just one dongle, one can use both DSDPlus and fmp24 and decode and also follow calls on a trunked system and conventional freqs.
Clicking fmp24.exe will try to open using the use first available dongle switch. (-i0)
Launching fmp24-vc will try dongle number 2, which your system is saying is in use. Either driver issue or its in use in sdr#.
Do not use fmp24.exe or fmp24-vc. Use Fmp24-CC.bat. Make sure the dongle is not running in sdr crap or fmp24 wont be able to open it.
Once you get fmp24 open and looking something like this, type in the freq you want to scan and verify you can see it on the spectrum.
Then open 1r.bat

For DSD to be happy you often have to start the individual .bats in order.
1 start your edited to the CC frequency FMP24-CC.bat
2 start the FMP24-VC the stock configuration should be fine
3 start the DSD R1.bat
This should get everything running correctly with 2 SDR dongles.
Once you get it going properly let us know and I will see if I have a few minutes to make you a single .bat that will do all of this in one step. In my configuration I am only using one SDR but it might be interesting to do some logging using 2.

Don't mean to randomly jump in here in the middle of the night and hijack things, but just out of curiosity, is there some guide somewhere, or some youtube video, or group where they recommend this setup. I find that a lot of people use this setup, and more often than not, the setup is terrible. I often get SDR# IF recordings that are not conducive to replay and analysis, and from what I see from the end users own demonstrations of their setups, that the decodes are often trashed, or not very good.
In the early days of DSDPlus, before FMP was added, I believe you needed to use that setup. Then FMP was a couple years later. However, the vast majority of those same kind of posts that you mentioned seem to be much newer users.
It also may be that the support was for the RTL-SDR and Airspy but not the newer brands/types of SDRs until fairly recently.

I have used numerous SDRs with DSDPlus. This includes Airspy R2, SDR V2,3,4 as well as a couple of Ail Express $15 dongles. All of them worked with the support files in DSDPlus. The R2 uses the R1.bat and the SDR uses the FMP24 .bat. The Ali express ones I do not remember which configuration or .bat I used.
My recommendation is to use the SDR v3 or v4 dongle and use the .bat files posted here and in other threads.

cc and vc launch only with disconnected dongle, when it's connected, cc shows #1 in use, vc shows #2 in use
