Airforce 1

Spotted "Airforce 1" Landing at "Tinker AFB" today around 13:40 hours.

Unknown if it was occupied or not, could have been comming in for mtc.

It was a pretty site though.

Dunno if you saw AF1 or not. Usually, it is a big deal if it goes anywhere.

You might have seen a NECAP from Offutt shooting an approach as they are the same equipment and are painted similar. Did you get a picture of it?

No did not have a camera available.

It did have "United States of America" with the presidential symbol on it.

Like you said could have been touch and go. I have seen the A.W.A.C.S. Planes touch and go in the past.

If AF1 comes to town "we" are very busy and nothing was mentioned in the morning ops report about it. Sorry, I still think it was a NECAP ..

IIRC there are two planes that are set up in an identical fashion. Either plane can become AirForce 1 if the President is on board. Is it possible or likely that alternate pilots/new pilots were doing training mission with the second plane? The primary plane is never far away from the President.

FYI: ANY USAF aircraft that is boarded by POTUS is officially callsign Air Force One.

Any USMC aircraft with POTUS onboard is Marine One.

Any USN aircraft with POTUS is Navy One.

POTUS is supposed to be in Cleveland, Ohio tomorrow morning/afternoon. should be lots of activity in the area then.

If it is an Army aircraft it is Army 1. Same applies for the Coast Guard also.

When I worked in Wichita we saw the Planes used for AF1 at the Boeing Plant regularly, for maint and updates. Also got to see the airborne lasers first flight test, pretty cool stuff!
