So I've got Basestation customized up to operate in relative harmony with SBS populate and base station reporter and have outlines loaded for half the country; is there any significant advantage for paying $37 for planefinder or some other software program to use with the SBS-1er?

There are two big features of PlanePlotter that you might be interested in:

1) You can upload your data to the world-wide sharing network, and likewise download, thus enabling you to track planes in places other than your local area. There's particularly good coverage in the UK and Europe generally, though the US is getting better everyday (and we'd love to see your data, wherever you are).

2) Multilateration, which essentially allows you to track non-ADS-B aircraft given the right circumstances. There's a decent summary here.

I just "spoke" with Miro the other day. His email address is miro@mnet.bg

FWIW, He advised me that he is running about 20 days behind in filling orders, but he put me on his waiting list. He also noted that shipping to the US is taking from one week (rare) to one month to make the trip.

They un-did that a while back, due to competitive pressures (and I hope, in part, due to coming to realize how dumb the idea is). Port 30003 data is presented in real-time.

Found this one the AirNavSystyems site. XML format part is still delayed...

Share Data with other users
Screen Shot showing Windows HyperTerminal receiving data from RadarBox
Data is shared with a 5 minute delay on port 7879 in XML format so you can develop your own custom applications.

Depends on what kind of connectors you ordered with your DPD.

My DPD was fitted with N female, and I got a 20' run of Super RG-8 with N males, and then a N female to SMA to go to the SBS-1.

The microADSB has a SMA antenna connector.

Mail from Bulgaria to the USA takes 4 to 8 weeks.

Just recieved mine, ordered it the 25th of May and got it today. Now to see if I can set this bad boy up!

I got a message from Miro today. My microADSB is in the mail and on the way to the USA. Price was 78 Euro, shipped (about $113 USD).

Let's see how long it takes to get here.

I've been using Micro-ADSB for a afew months, I've very Happy with it, I have been using the Sprut software that came with it. I was wondering if anyone has any addresses for the client servers in order to see traffic from other parts of the world.

Update... received my MicroADSb receiver from Bulgaria in slightly more than one month after shipping confirmation.

It took mere minutes to get the receiver up and running. Planeplotter - a bit longer.

Now to work on getting a better antenna to improve my range...

Regards to all,
John
