Hi Joe;

Yes on confirmation and tracking. I've been watching the tracking which is what is showing the "origin is preparing shipment" message.

USPS is notorious for not acknowledging that the parcel is in their possession until it is on your doorstep. Their tracking system will say something like "We have received notice ..." for days and then suddenly it says "delivered".

Youssef,

The updated firmware available at that link is working great so far. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem yet using the new firmware.

Of course, time will tell. But if I still don't have issues on a regular basis after tomorrow, I'd have to call it "fixed'.

Thanks!

Mike

Things can only improve with Airspy. It's all software and there are enough flash cycles for a very long life.
Btw, the source code of the firmware is published if someone is interested in using the extra clocks, gpio (to switch external filters) and more importantly, the two extra ADC inputs: https://github.com/airspy/firmware

That's great news. Of course, as far as source goes, I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag.

Incidentally, I have clicked and re-clicked and doubleclicked and did everything I could to attempt to make the Airspy stop communicating with 1.0.0.x firmware, and I couldn't break it. The firmware update totally fixed this issue. Great job!

Hmm. I like the potential to switch external filters. That could come in real handy.

Thank you

Mike

It is 4:36am and I just got back from the mailbox. AS is in hand after a quick and flawless trip on DHL from China to the USA. The USPS is the one bungling up the rest, including misinformation from my postmaster in my small town. I have the last laugh, as I now have my AS.

I can hardly contain myself, as I have been using the Funcube Dongle Pro Plus up until now. Sleep for me and then I'll play with the AS hardware in a few hours :)

Airspy QuickStart: Quick start guide | airspy.com

Just in case the particular issue discussed by me in this thread might plague you, you might want to download/install the airspy tools (link in the QuickStart mentioned above) and then run airspy_info to see what version of firmware you are running. If you're running 0.9.9.x you might want to upgrade to 1.1.0-rc3

Just thought I'd throw in my experiences with airspy freezing.

Ive had my unit for a few days. Love it. I was getting some really irritating behavior, like it locking up whenever i tried to slide the tuning slider too fast, or get jerky unless I change sample rates. I am at the latest 1.0 rc3 firmware.

I tried all the usb ports on the machine but no difference. My machine is quite a ways from where I wanted the airspy so I had been using a 10 foot usb extension. I really didnt think the cable had any impact. Well it appears it did.

Without the extension cable, it works rock solid. I start using the cable, weirdness ensues. Not sure what the deal is. Its an amazon branded cable.

Hope this saves someones else from ripping their hair out.
