So, if Akron gets called mutual aid in to Barberton, then what?

I think I've heard a few times in the recent past where AFD Station 10 has gone in to Barberton for one thing or another.

Akron and Springfield Twp FDs practiced together at a house fire training site today and succesfully utilized the MAC talkgroup set up. After the incident start, command using Fireground 9 requested a MAC channel for communication with Springfield . Akron dispatch contacted Summit Count Dipsatch for a MAC channel on MAC-Call, was assigned MAC-2. Akron Dispatch patched MAC-2 with Akron Fireground 9. The entire process was quite quick and a seamless transition.

How this will work on a real incident with dispatchers being swamped might be different . We will see.

Here's a new twist. An article in the Tallmadge Express this weekend has more news on the layout after the fallout of the COG. Tallmadge and Mogadore are looking to sign with Stow for dispatching services. 6 of TriComs 9 dispatchers will be moved. The change is to take affect July 1. That leaves Stow to move to 800mHz by then.

So, here's how the players of the COG and others lay out:

Cuyahoga Falls dispatches for themselves, Silver Lake and Munroe Falls.

Stow dispatches for themselves, Tallmadge, and Mogadore.

Kinda looks like life in the 70s, when Tallmadge was dispatched by Stow.

Great info! Hopefully you can give us updates on the new talkgroups. Wonder why the big City of Tallmadge with all their revenue would use Stow for dispatching? So the Tallmadge/Tricomm dispatchers would move to the Stow safety center? Should be pretty crowded.

Stow Dispatch Center was purposely over built to accomodate expansion .. should be room with renovations.

In regards to the old South Summit County system (Green), what talkgroups can be removed from there for agencies that transitioned over to the county system?

I for one and there are possibly others who are tired of your condescending attitude towards members who post to this and other forums on this board. This last exchange just proves my point. You knew very well what system this was in reference to, but you had to see how far to go to show your so-called superiority, so for myself this will be my last post to this board. Administrators please remove my membership and or account from this board as soon as possible.

Gee .. we'll miss Einstein ...

By the way, 36208 (New Franklin Road Dept) is a NEW TG identified on Summit Regional 800 Network, not the old South Summit system.

Cuyahoga Falls No Police What happened

It's official.. Cuyahoga Falls and Fairlawn/Bath/Copley will be joining the Summit Regional Radio Network .. don't look for the switch anytime soon .. need to order radios, dispatch consoles, area coverage testing, etc, but the wheels are in motion. I guess the Falls decided the Summit Radio Network System must not have been "antiquated", as their Mayor had previously stated !

Do you have any idea what happened to Falls Police and Fire? I have a Bearcat BCBC296 D No longer can get the PD or Fire. Everything else seems to work? Are they on new TG or Frequencies? Thanks Steve V svillanova@ameritech.net WD8BQS
