1551 is a Trussville PD channel on the AFRN site. 1561 is the next closest I know of which is Mtn. Brook pd dispatch. maybe a new Trussville group? I haven't seen that TG on the huffman tower so really not sure.

The Marshall County 911 Board is investing $1.5 million in 3 new 300-foot
radio towers to boost communications for emergency responders in the county.
The new towers will be the framework for a new digital system to bring the
county’s radio communications into the modern age.

911 Board Invests $1.5 Million in 3 New Towers

Unsure if these New Tower Sites will be part of AFRN or not.
Yeah, they will be part of the AFRN at some point in time. We've been told that we will have 99% county-wide radio coverage

In Arab you are probably going to need an outside antenna for the Huntsville system. There are a few Hsv/Mad Co TGs that roam onto the Brindley Site but not many
Problem was part gone bad in scanner. Replacement scanner in and receiving them again.

Yes those agencies are all being broadcasted from this site. Keep in mind that I’m only about 2 air miles from this site. Others have reported problems with simulcast distortion trying to receive this site. Also running a SDS 100 and 200 with no simulcast problems. Hope this helps.

Medic9351301,

Yes I’m using 857.5375 control channel for this site. My suggestion for Shelby County agencies would be to try the Pelham site control channel 770.506250.

Rock Creek in the western part of JeffCo no longer receiving Rock Mtn. simulcast site full scale like I was before a couple of days ago. I have to find "sweet spots" to receive it at all, but it's still there... unless I'm receiving another site with control channel 855.6875. That could be the case I suppose. It is full scale using my ham discone on 40' tower on this hill. :)

Tks to PapaG I've programmed the Red Mtn. Site of the BhmEmergComm system (ctrl. 857.5375) and am receiving it full scale here with standard set antenna. New talk groups for the JeffCo SO are working right. Concord FD coming in on TGID 587 with partners BhmPort and Warrior River.

Tks for all the helpful info folks.

The attached are the site frequencies I'm using in western JeffCo to receive the JeffCo SO ...

How is this system associated with the AFRN network? Did we get off topic or is it patched into the AFRN?

Isn't this a separate system apart from the AFRN? If not, how are they tied together?

These 18 frequencies are from Red Mountain and TelVue atop the hill on Tyler Road. The Birmingham Emergency Communications District has licenses for 700-Mhz also. This may or may not be AFRN. How would we tell?

The existing Jefferson County Public Safety system which is a Motorola Smart Zone trucking system is being converted over to a pure P 25 system. This will be a part of the AFRN state wide system that is presently in place. At the present time both system are operating but when the conversion is complete the Motorola system will go away at least this is how I understand the situation.
