I started seeing some new peers and sites last week and started compiling to submit. When I checked again the next day none of the original sites would decode anymore and the new ones have a wide bandwidth (22 Khz) continuous signal being broadcast. I'm assuming that it is a test signal.

Sites identified with CC
2 854.0125
13 854.7875 Pt. Lavaca ?
41 858.3625 Alice ?
42 856.9125 Beeville ?
43 854.9375 Refugio
44 855.8625 Georgewest ?
49 854.1625 Hebronville ?
52 854.6125 Freer ?
57 855.0625 Tradewinds
87 855.3375 W. Corpus

I continue to monitor and will submit info when signals return to P25.

That's useful. What would be more useful though is the excerpt from your DSDPlus.P25data file for the specific AEP P25 networks you have monitored. The part we would be interested in would be in your DSDPlus.P25data file and would start with:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Network: 92715.1F8

Bandplan #0: Base=851. Offset=-45 Spacing=12.5 BW=12.5
Bandplan #8: Base=851. Offset=-45 Spacing=12.5 BW=12.5 Slots=2

and it would end with the highest numbered 92715.1F8 site that you monitored.

The reason why the whole contents of the 92715.1F8 portion from that file would be beneficial is because it would also show what site(s) you monitored that happened to list a specific peer/neighbor. The more neighbors/peers that we know about for a particular site we are unsure about, the more sure we can be about that particular site.e

Thanks for keeping an eye out for new sites in your area!

Check all the frequencies licensed at each site. The control channels probably rotated.
The wideband data stream is SCADA or some type of non-voice data channel. It can use the same channels as the P25 system. A few of the sites up here appear to even have the SCADA channel on what the P25 CC is showing as an alternate CC.

Looks like that will probably be Munday TX -- which would be a logical neighbor of it. I don't see any other sites nearby with that freq licensed.
Yep. It was an EDACS neighbor. The good thing is I can receive that site a lot but so far not today. I don't know if its band conditions or its completely off the air right now.

They built a new tower there right next to the old one several years ago because I think the old one was damaged by ice.

Clip from P25data file attached. I will take a drive to a few locations over next few days to see if I can decode anything locally

44 855.8625 would either be George West or Robstown

49 854.1625 does appear to be Hebronville (Realtios as the FCC license calls it). You actually have a full copy of this site in your P25Data file with 3 CCs and a couple of neighbors and a NAC listed. So this one is safe to consider "confirmed" and to be added to the DB.

Site: 49.49 NAC=031

Neighbor: 92715.1F8-51.51
Neighbor: 92715.1F8-52.52

Channel 0-253: 854.1625 SCC
Channel 0-295: 854.6875 SCC
Channel 0-343: 855.2875 CC

51.51 CC: 858.8125 857.4125 This could be Falfurrious. FCC license has both those freqs on it and Freer lists 51.51 as a neighbor

52 854.6125 does appear to be Freer. You actually have a good copy of this site in your P25Data file with 2 CCs and a handful of neighbors and a NAC listed. So I think this one is safe to consider "confirmed" and to be added to the DB.

Site: 52.52 NAC=034

Neighbor: 92715.1F8-2.2
Neighbor: 92715.1F8-41.41
Neighbor: 92715.1F8-42.42
Neighbor: 92715.1F8-49.49
Neighbor: 92715.1F8-51.51

Channel 0-247: 854.0875 SCC
Channel 0-289: 854.6125 CC

2 854.0125 might be Laredo (since Freer lists it as a neighbor)

I may add 49.49 and 52.52 to the DB. But I would ask that you take those two excerpts above for 49.49 / 52.52 and submit them to the DB so that we have documentation in the DB. I could submit it to the DB, but you are the one who copied them and thus are the one who should be given credit. If you submit them I'll add them. There is enough information in your P25Data file to consider 49/52 confirmed.

Nice work!

Anyone have some info on the site on Hancock County, Ohio? Seems to be active and decodes the site NAC (006), but no traffic. And Findlay only has one TG labeled as "Trouble". I know they should be talking on *something* since I can see them doing linework at a substation right down the road.

use ID Search or Group Wildcard depending upon your scanner

the database only has talkgroups that people submit, so you need to listen for all traffic

and if there isnt onclement weather there isnt much going on

Harry

you know what -- that is going to be Alderson WV

Forget what the neighbor list said. They may have staged that site in St Clairsville or Wheeling before moving it to its final destination. But the frequencies are Alderson, and Alderson would make good sense from your location. I would expect those neighbors to eventually change. They may have just brought it online today.

great job!

That actually might have been what used to be the Moundsville West Virginia site. They may have decided that they didn’t need it in Moundsville or that they needed it more in Alderson and so they migrated it from Moundsville to there.

I can’t remember the site, but I remember a site that came online in southern Ohio a year or two ago. When it first came online it had neighbors they were all around Cambridge/Saint Clarsville. And if I recall correctly it took a little while before they ended up updating the neighbor list on the site to reflect the neighbors down in southern Ohio

but yeah I bet they pulled that Moundsville site out and put it in Alderson

I don't know why I said Moundsville, I meant Shadyside OH. At any rate, Shadyside site is still online and active. So they probably staged/tested the Alderson equipment nr Wheeling/St Clairsville and then moved it to Alderson and activated it.

If that isn't what happened, then it might have been some P25data file corruption of some sort.

You might end up wanting to delete the specific stanzas in your P25data file for 1F7-34.34 and (if you have it) 1F6-34.34. And then re-run DSDPlus, tune to the Alderson control channel and let it gather new info.

If Alderson still shows those odd peers, I'm sure they will eventually change. And when they do change, that site will be helpful to see when new sites come online in VA right on the border, maybe.

I did put all of this stuff in the DB / wiki / map though. Thanks for the new one, Harry.
