This is untrue

It proves to me that slicerwizard has poor reading comprehension.

Thanks, but it's true that I don't know what I'm talking about a lot of the time and just ramble on. Although every sample I'm aware of was taken from some program that produces .IQ files or from DSDPlus-generated raw-audio files, and I'm not sure that any of the people who submitted those samples using DSDPlus were using discriminator audio. They were more likely to have been using an SDR dongle linked with DSDPlus or an SDR Dongle + SDR Software --> DSDPlus (the latter I suppose would be considered discriminator audio).

It's all FM demodulated. Doesn't much matter if it came from an SDR or a tapped radio. It's going to look pretty much identical to a decoder.

SWEPCO update.

In Ringgold the weird non-decodable channel is now a analog voice channel for the original EDACS system that was always there. It's still in use, although LCN's keep changing, as EDACS and have had the database updated. Some other sites are giving off EDACS data but I've been too far away to check for LCNs.

No descernable P25 data found on the Louisiana portion at this time. The search continues.

How would you know?

If you park on what you believe to be a control channel and you can't decode it, it may have switched. But, the better way to tell is to monitor a site that you can monitor and look at the peers. If the peers list control channel freqs with channel numbers that begin with something other than 0-xxx (probably 8-xxx), then you know that one or more of those peers is using a TDMA control channel.

And of course, if you have the latest DSDPlus it will decode it, and you'll know. See screenshot (raw audio from 1F8-52.52 down in texas piped into DSDplus). Look at the 8-xxx channel numbers. Each of those peers is running a TDMA CC.

And if you happen to be running the latest version of DSDPlus and come upon a site with a TDMA CC, you will know it because in the Channel Activity window of DSDplus you will see an 8-xxx channel number (and probably no frequency because the display of the freq of TDMA CCs is currently broken in version 2.345).

Shreveport has come on line on 857.3875 for AEP system 1F9 - 92715 as site 66-066. Showing one neighbor, 80-080 on 854.0375 but I can't pick that up from where I am at. The EDACS site 22 on 855.6125 is still online and granting calls for the time being. I updated the 1F9 section to include Louisiana and added the new site.

854.0375 is on my favorites to check out (Mooringsport, Caddo; AEP; WREL564). I'll see if I can pick it up from Webster as I'll be there tomorrow or Monday.

Weird if it’s Mooringsport, I was staying at a hotel off Pines Rd and I-20 and turned the gain all the way up and couldn’t get any signal on 854.0375.

It could be like Entergy and be licensed for Mooringsport but actually in AR or TX. I'll be on the lookout for that freq in my travels, my area stops just shy of Bossier/Caddo but we shall see.

Didn't quite make it to Edna today. It appears to be site 114 based on neighbors. Did confirm Fannin and Pt. Lavaca sites today. Submitted to database. P25data extract attached with guesses on unidentified sites.

SWEPCO: I picked up 1F9 80-80 about 30mi east of Mooringsport on 854.0375 with a NAC of 050. Not close enough to confirm site with confidence. I'll post in Louisiana thread for specifics and perhaps some East Texas listeners can assist.

Bellevue, Plain Dealing, Ringgold are still up on EDACS with no P25 data at this time.

Hi Harry,

Great job! I have added the site. Any chance you could email me your P25Data file (or attach it to a post here). I'd like to be able to see the control channel frequency that is assigned to each of those neighbors/peers, as that will allow us to determine what other sites are likely online.

You can email me at mtindor @ gmail or PM me.

Thanks for your continued sleuthing!

Mike

Yeah I’ll send you the file. Actually I was over near Alderson today and was able to verify that 34 is indeed in that area. I checked on Bolt on my way back and it was still not P 25. Thought I’d take a look before dinner and lo and behold there it was.
