Thanks for pointing out to me in PM that those were 1F6 (bogus) neighbors. Crazy. I was all excited for a minute. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait til they update things on Alderson and Bolt so that they have problem neighbor lists.

I thought like you did @mtindor that we had new sites on line. False alarm.

I’ll be in Cotulla for the rest of this week so I’ll check Encinal and some others while I’m there

Do you have a tool (DSDPlus Fastlane latest version / OP25 / Bluetail Technology P25RX) to be able to decode P25 TDMA control channels? Just asking because that is probably what you are going to need over in that area.

I have the latest Fastlane version, having a few issues with command lines and SDR Sharp plug in, and I haven’t really had the time to figure it out yet but I’ll get there

Rgr that. if you are using 2.347, keep in mind that it will not show the CC freqs in the channel activity window for P25 TDMA CC sites. But it will put all relevant control channels and peer info in the DSDplus.P25Data file. The next version I believe will correct the Channel Activity window display of freqs.

Mike, you mean "will NOT"?... Your comment says "will now".

Was able to receive 1F8 site 2 tonight. Based on neighbors it appears to be Karnes City. Also picked up new site 62 which may be Bishop. Became active today. Site 4 is new but shows disconnected. Based on CC it is probably Dilley site. @rattlerbb01 may be able to confirm (close to Cotulla).

Latest p25data extract attached.

I think you are right on all accounts. Great work! Here is an interesting tidbit (and I bet that at the time site 62 was known to exist because it was listed as a peer of one or more other sites, it was probably not in a connected state and had the 854.0125 CC.

Channel 8-482: 854.0125-1 CC
Channel 8-558: 854.4875-1 CC
Channel 8-642: 855.0125-1 SCC
Channel 8-862: 856.3875-1 SCC
Channel 8-1010: 857.3125-1 SCC

That's what your file has in it for 62.62. 854.4875 is most recent CC. Initially the reported CC (by some other peer, probably when 62 was not connected to that peer) was 854.0125. There is only going to be one "legit" (CC) show in DSDPlus, and that is the current one. The rest would show up as SCC (including 854.0125 if it truly was a freq on that site).

So 62.62 has been added without 854.0125, which was likely just shown as a CC for 62.62 on some other site peer list when that other site was not connected to 62.62. And of course we know 854.0125 is not on the license.

I don't have the option of seeing failed/connected status in P25Data submissions, so only you guys monitoring out in the field would know. If you happen to notice any new peers in the future that are failed / not connected / isolated, please be sure to continue to let us know that. Because we have to put less trust in the listed CC in the peer list of the site that is showing that failed peer.

In the end, the CC for 4.4 might not end up actually being right either, since 4.4 you said was showing as not connected. It may be right (Dilley would make sense), but can't assign the same trust value to a failed/isolated peer. Actually 4.4 freq probably is right. Dilley would certainly make sense to be peer of 2, 44, 52 -- all of which list it as a peer.

I've added 2.2 and 62.62 to the DB and have updated the wiki and map.

I have two strong TDMA control channels in Cotulla coming in on 855.0125 and 855.3375. DSD Plus is giving me fits trying to extract the new update. I'll have to work on this one for a bit before I can decode them. I am getting an unspecified error code and windows won't let me extract anything. It didn't ask for a password like previous updates have, and it isn't a 0 KB file or anything that clues me into a corrupted file.

Edit to above for clarity, I forgot to use 7zip. New laptop and all. Well, now that that works, I am having trouble establishing the link between FMP24 and DSD.....more research

Got it all figured out, 48.48 is definitely Carrizo Springs, and 53.53 is Encinal. There are more neighbors that I would like to get in range of to locate. Possible locations are Bracketville (Kinney Co), Pescadito (Webb Co), Encino (Brooks Co), Del Rio, Eagle Pass. Dilley is probably the 4.4 site, but it is not up online now. Dilley is running EDACS along with Bigfoot still. They appear to be deep in the transition phase at this moment.

Would post the CC frequencies of the neighbors, specifically:

1.1
4.4
6.6
50.50

These would all be in your DSDPlus.P25Data file. They are under their own heading though and not under the peer listings of 48/53.

Thanks

Mike

1.1 854.2625 (Encino or Bracketville)
4.4 855.2375 (Dilley most likely, but still failed and disconnected)
6.6 854.4625 (Uvalde, will verify today)
50.50 854.0875 (Could be Eagle Pass, Freer is confirmed as site 52?)

These would all be in your DSDPlus.P25Data file. They are under their own heading though and not under the peer listings of 48/53.

Thank you.

BTW, 1F8-48.48 is more likely Asherton than it is Carrizo Springs.

Carrizo Springs - 2008 tower construction - American Towers
- old license location since forever

Asherton - 2017 tower construction - AEP Texas
- new FCC licensed location 2018

Both license locations have the same reported CC frequencies on them (and Asherton a couple more)

And they are only 12 air miles apart

You may be right, but last year I could pick up the EDACS site in Carrizo with no antenna. It’s possible that they may have moved it but Ashertons site and the Encinal site which is actually well west of Encinal are pretty close to each other and the terrain here is nothing if not flat. At least in the case of the EDACS system, these sites can be heard from 30-35 miles away from 5’ AGL

They also filed a construction notification in on 2/24/2020 for Site 2 (asherton) with all the freqs on site indicating it had been bulit out in 10/2019. It would make sense that they wouldn't bother to move the EDACS site (and that it would have still been online in Carrizo Springs last year).

Anyway, I'm just throwing it out there.
