Alright, I'm ANNOYED!! How do I get my Uniden bcd996p2 to scan certain systems or groups?

I have downloaded several systems and groups into my scanner and I can see that they are there...but how do I limit what it scans and stay in one system?

Assign quick keys to each system so you can toggle them on or off when you want. If no keys are assigned it just scans everything.

I've assigned them all a Quick Key...I guess the question is how do I dail the quick key on the scanner, because it seems no matter what I press it doesn't go to that system.

I just use the quick keys as banks. To turn on a bank/quick key that is 0-9 you just hit that number and it will scan that bank/quick key. To get the other 10-99 banks/quick keys you have to hit the " . " first, then the two digit bank #/quick key. So if you want to scan bank 16 you press .16

Did you assign them all a unique Quick Key or did you assign them all the same one?

If you want to directly access a system, you want to use Number Tags, not Quick Keys.

Quick Keys allow you to quickly enable/disable scanning of systems.

Number Tags allow for direct access to Systems or Channels.

It sounds like you're hitting the ENTER button. You don't do that for Number Tags. You hit the tag number followed by the MENU button.

1. Assign each and every system a unique Quick Key.
2. While scanning, those SQK's that are enabled show with a digit. Those that are not enabled show as an * in the next-to-bottom line.
3. While scanning, press the SQK for each system until the one(s) you want to scan have the digit showing, and the one(s) you down want to scan have an asterisk showing.

In your video, Muncie School is set to SQK 02 and the channels are in a channel group within that system that you've set to GQK 1. And, both the system and channel quick keys for those groups are disabled (as indicated by the * in both positions).

So, you need to enable SQK 02 and enable GQK 1 for that system. Then, you need to disable SQK 03, 06, 07, 08, and 00.
