I just raised my scantenna to about 20 feet today and put it on a Rotator. Also went from a PVC mast to metal mast. What do i need to do to ground everything correctly ? Right now i have it grounded to a 4 foot peace of re bar in the ground via a stainless steel cable to the main mast. I know this cant be right ,but i figure its better then nothing. How bad is it ? What should i change ? Do i need anything in line in the coax? Any ideas or suggestions ? Thanks in advance everyone.. Need The Info.

This question comes up about every couple of months. There has been a number of
detailed threads on just this same subject. Not trying to brush you off, but try a search
on the subject and sit back and read.

Bottom line is that the NEC (national electrical code) and the home owners insurance
company are very clear on how this needs to be done.

You will need to drive a 8'copper ground rod in the ground.use copper ground strap to run from the ground rod to what ever you have your antenna mounted on.use good clamps.that should be better than re bar.John

That would violate the NEC and is potentially dangerous, wink should do what the 2nd post suggests.
