Still don't know what radio to get. I'm on the fence about the IC-7610 for its lack of portability, since I need that. I am thinking about the IC-7300, and may lean towards that. I am getting my General license for Christmas, and just want a good, portable, ~$950 100W HF (or all-band, though those kinds of radios make some compromises) transceiver. What do you guys think?
Super happy with mine, but yeah...not really a portable radio. As already mentioned, the IC-7300 is similar and most definitely portable.

Thanks! I have researched about it and have settled on purchasing this one.
Earlier today, I received an email ad from DX Engineering offering the Icom IC-7300 for $899.95 with an additional Icom coupon (regularly $999.95). Haven't checked the other super sellers...

ETA: DX Engineering is the only major supplier offering this deal (@13:45 Wednesday 10DEC2025)

Since the IC-7300 Mk 2 will be shipping soon in the US, I'm not surprised to see price cuts on the original model which will do most of what hams need.

Thank you all for sharing info with me! I will now be unwatching this thread. I will make others if I have any other questions or concerns.
