Anytone 868 text messages

I have 2 Anytone 868 radios programmed identically. The only difference is the DMR IDs. I am using simplex. I can send text messages between the radios using a talk groups. But I want to be able to type in a DMR ID and have the message sent to the radio with that ID. I cannot seem to make this work. Can anyone help?
