Looking at the NXDN specs I see the transmission rates and codec rates are different, so you would not be able to receive 12.5KHz on a 6.25KHz mode receiver.
prcguy

Preliminary report CONFIRMS that it DOES NOT decode 12.5kHz NXDN - digital noise is the only thing that is heard.

Preliminary report is that there is a short delay prior to muting at the end of DMR transmissions where DIGITAL NOISE IS HEARD (similar to "motorboating" on P25). This was on a conventional UHF TRBO repeater.

No report yet on voice reception of NXDN or DMR trunked frequencies when monitored in conventional mode.

Preliminary report is that it DOES ALLOW voice reception of DMR trunked frequencies when monitored in conventional mode.

However, there is a short delay prior to muting at the end of DMR transmissions where DIGITAL NOISE IS HEARD (similar to "motorboating" on P25).

Voice quality is very good on decoded digital signals, however it won't ignore DATA transmissions on TRBO.

Can't selectively monitor only Slot 1 vs Slot 2, however it appears that if VOICE becomes active on one slot vs data on the other, it will switch to VOICE..

Overall, looks like a good first try for an all-mode digital receiver.

Let's hope for a quick response on any firmware updates...

Thanks for uploading the video! Would love to see more videos if possible

Franz

My contact who was feeding me info this afternoon only had a couple of hours to test a unit earlier in the day.

I have no plans (or the cash) to purchase one - just passing along info for the benefit of the forums and potential buyers.

If anyone could provide more info from Dayton 2015 it would be much appreciated!!!

Uggg!

That display layout looks terrible.

Whats with the weird VFO A frequency readout with the fat and thin numerals?

Hopefully, this is like a beta version of the display, that will eventually be tidied up to look half decent.

Bottom line, combining very low resolution dot-matrix displays, with too much information is a recipe for disaster. All the manufacturers seem guilty of this in their 'consumer grade' receiver/scanner product though.

Looking forward to more performance reports & reviews though.

No reported reception issues or digital noise at end of transmissions in D-STAR mode.

I'm wondering how it handles voice on both time slots of a DMR frequency at the same time.

Still nothing on system fusion

Have been advised is will receive voice on NXDN trunking systems using 6.25kHz.

This is while scanning the voice frequencies of the system.

No motor boating.
