I have been looking all over the place and can't seem to find any info on the default frequency's for the 16 channels on the Arcshell (bought from amazon). Any one know what they are?
You were right. It was about the 127.3 . Now that Ive programmed the Bao to 127.3, it now communicates with the Arcshell both ways.It looks to me like the Arcshell radios I found on Amazon are just re-badged Baofeng BF-888S radios. My guess is that the Arcshell out of spec. It wouldn't be the first radio I've seen, especially of the CCRs, that don't transmit or receive (or both) some of the tones properly.
Midland -> Baofeng = Yes
Baofeng -> Midland = Yes
Archshell -> Baofeng = Yes
Arcshell -> Midland = Yes
Midland -> Arcshell = NO
Baofeng -> Arcshell = NO
If you are 100% sure that the Arcshell is programmed for the correct RX tone then it probably is not handling 127.3 Hz RX properly. How does it do with a different tone; something very different but not a common multiple of 127.3 Hz? If it works with another tone then you just have to consider 127.3 Hz off the usable list.
But now the midland is unable to transmit to both the Boa and the Arcshell.
The mystery now is how to get the Midland to be on the 127.3 Hz.
Midlands have something called CTCSS and DCS privacy codes, but you cant see what Hz. it is. I don't even know if CTCSS or DCS codes would put you on 127.3Hz. If it did, then I would be able to have all 3 radios communicate back and forth with each other.
Does anyone know the answer to this? Does the CTCSS and DCS codes have the 127.3 HZ in one of them?
