Are there any new radio models in the works?

I just saw the latest video from Andre and he announced a new model from Xhdata, the D-221. It's the D-220 with the addition of the weather band, but the removal of FM. I'm sure that makes sense to someone, but not to me. Why keep AM, something that is struggling to stay relevant and remove the band that's closer to the weather band and has more listeners?
I looked on the Xhdata website too long after posting this and see they didn't delete the FM band. That makes a lot more sense.

If it’s AM/FM/SW and weather band and NOAA alerts? That’s making me wanna buy one.

I didn't see where it did alerts but it does the rest according to the Xhdata website. Andre liked it in the video, maybe you've got to buying a fourth radio earlier than you expected?🤔

SDRPlay has a new SDR coming out. I saw somewhere that it would be available on November 27. Your can look at it here

I’ll actually be the judge of that, lol.
I looked at the pictures on the Xhdata website and they replaced the FM band we don't use here with the weather band. I wish they would have done that to the D-219 but this looks like a great radio to stash in the car and other places for just in case. So you may not have to worry about being good, you can be prepared!

As for possible new radios, I would look to Qodosen. The DX-286 is on sale today for $69.99 at Amazon. I wouldn‘t be surprised if an updated one could be in the works.

Also, XHData may not be done yet. Maybe they will have something else new.

Am currently researching a ham radio. Used to own a Icom IC705, which I regret selling. Worked great oh HF. Will looking for a used 705, came along a Xiegu X6100. Posted in the amature section to see if anyone has any information on it. Good small portable with a waterfall display. Decent price if it’s any good.

If they'd add the weather band and SSB I think that would check all the boxes for me but I really don't need another radio now. And with buying a new phone and tablet before prices go up due to the tariffs I'm going to hold off for now unless there's something that I can't resist. Who knows, maybe I'll win one of the radios Andre is going to give away?🤔

The newest model I am aware of is the Tecsun S-2200x. This is basically a Tecsun 501x in a 15 year old desktop case. This radio is getting good reviews, but if you already have a 501/x you’re not going to much better buy purchasing the S-2200x

Have they fixed the enormous problems around power consumption???

I don’t have any power consumption problems with my 501. I use Panasonic 18650 batteries with a Xtar VC4 charger/conditioner and average around 60-72 hours on a charge. I also have 4 extra pairs of batteries that I keep fully charged. I rotate which pair I use

Those are good batteries. I was pleasantly surprised at how much better they were than the Surefires I'd been using in flashlights.

I bought some batteries and chargers from Battery Junction years ago. They were a good source then but I haven't had any experience with them since then.
Thanks. i will check them out
