Aurora PD - Which System

Hello --

I will be in the Denver area soon with a Pro-96. I see that Denver itslef is on an EDACS system. Can anyone tell me about Aurora Police and Fire? Are they trunked, and if so, which system are they on?

Hi Ed, Aurora is on a EDACS System as well. The system uses a mixed Voice solution. The police cruisers and EMS are Provoice. You will not be able to hear any of the units in the field but APD patch is still analog Everything else including AFD on the system is analog.

AFD dispatch 04-021 is dispatchers only in analog. Radios in the field are digital.

AFD TAC-2 04-022 and AFD TAC-3 04-023 are totally analog.

Everything else AFD except the FERN patch 04-101 are digital.

Fire has no immediate plans to revert TAC-2 and TAC-3 back to full digital.

All APD TG's have dispatchers only in analog. All field users are digital. Eventually APD dispatchers will flip to digital. When is not known.
