If you update the database, it'll be in there and you should pick it up as long as you have it programmed correctly.

Update the database. Set your location by zip code. Set the range (something low like 5 miles is fine, trust me). Make sure law dispatch service type is selected. It should pick it up assuming you're in range of the AWIN sites they are operating off of.

Thank you very much!

You will need a P25 trunking capable scanner if you do not have one already. Newer talkgroup ID so it is probably operating in TDMA unless they have some older radios they are using in FDMA.

From the database:
"Logan Co has ceased using DMR in favor of AWIN"
53885d27dD42-LOGAN SOSheriff Dispatch

EDIT: I posted this reply, but the other replies to this post did not populate until after I had submitted. My bad.

As of 12/15/2019, new AWIN radio IDs are issued only for qualified P25 Phase 2 (TDMA) radio models only. (Source ADEM) There are still some older P25 Phase 1 FDMA radios in use on the AWIN system, no timeframe has been given when these will be replaced.

Is that the reason for out of sequence TGID's as opposed to new ones continuing the early ranges set for the counties?? Surely someone has lost understanding of the intent of the original TGID assignment scheme. It's become a hodge-podge in the 53xxx range.

You'd think it logical to stick to the original convention just to keep track of the counties with larger number of TGID's.

But, what do I know? I'm just a taxpayer.

I have no idea their reasons for how they now assign talkgroups, I personally think it would have been easier to keep them in some kind of logical order as well. As for all the new talkgroups they are all P25 Phase 2 (TDMA) capable talkgroups, even if they are not currently listed as such in the radioreference database, all old P25 Phase 1 FDMA radios and consoles will eventually be phased out which will improve the overall performance and capacity of the AWIN system.

Oh, I am fully aware. I am a full-time subscriber to the system in two different capacities as well as avid listener. All new talkgroups operate in TDMA unless a subscriber affiliates in FDMA. The system operates in DDM for now. I doubt they will force anyone out at this point as far as FDMA is concerned.

There is a reason, but I don’t think it is a good one. Remember that an entire committee approved it.

Catching a good bit of encrypted traffic on 53790 here in White Co. on the Floyd tower.

53789 is Springdale FD - Washington Co.
53792 is Vilonia PD - Faulkner

Leads me to suspect its a Faulkner Co. agency

Faulkner County Sheriff Dispatch has flipped again from talk group 19404 back to 19402. They've done this several times now. In my scanner, I just keep 19402, 19403, and 19404 all simply labeled as "Sheriff".

Interesting. Wonder how they have them labeled in their radios? And wonder why they would switch around? Interesting...

They are labeled as follows
FCSO-1 (Typically dispatch 1) 19402
FCSO-2 (typically dispatch 2) 19403
FCSO-3 (Transport channel for the jail) 19404
FCSO-4 (Rural depts. ex. Mayflower, Guy, Greenbrier etc) 19405 Usually says unit number to Greenbrier so a mayflower unit may say 107 Greenbrier then conduct whatever traffic they need to talk about.

Hope this helps!

Faulkner County Sheriff does have a few Tac and Swat channels. I will monitor some more to see if i can get any audio or information on these and update them in the database. I will compare radio ID's as well to verify and make sure. I know that Faulkner County was supposed to be getting more Talkgroups as well as some Fire depts. moving to either CWIN ( one dept has) and AWIN.

I'd bet the encrypted traffic is law enforcement of some sort. Best way is to catch radio ID's over a long period of time to track users paired to TGID's to pinpoint agencies.

I have my WS 1098 that runs constantly to do just that task. I'll go thru as see if I can export a data table that can be sorted in Excel.....won't be until the weekend tho!!
