Silent Key
AA Fire dispatched a rescue assignment on the Bay Bridge at 1400 today for an overturned tractor trailer which was first reported partly off the bridge. Turned out the truck was completely on the bridge and the driver made his way out of the cab by the time fire arrived. May have been assisted out by an MdTA officer who arrived first.
Units had a tough time in the wind - a door on an ambulance was nearly ripped off in the wind and had to be placed out of service. Wind restrictions (empty trailers, etc.) were in place since earlier today but apparently this guy didn't know or felt he could make it anyway. Result of the accident and winds - the Bay Bridge was shutdown completely in both directions....
Pretty cool watching the traffic cameras on the bridge with the live action - until they cut it off.....
