BC346XT and Software

I am having trouble with the BC346XT. I recently bought it used and the scanner will not be recognized by FreeScan and ARC-XT. It sometimes works with ARC-XT, but not all the time. Can anyone help me fix this?

Not enough information here. Did you get a USB-serial converter? Which one? Did you load the correct driver for your OS (i.e. Win7, Vista)? Did you look in Device Manager to see if you have a conflict with something else (USB cameras and Bluetooths are famous for tying up a port even if they're not connected)? Did you validate that the assigned port had the right speed (Baud rate)?

I need help,I just bought the Uniden BC346XT and I downloaded freescan and paid the fees and when I get to the last step and try to upload the frequencies I keeps saying that my scanner is not compatible but it shows the models and it suppose to work with the BC346Xt. I also get that my computer can not communicate with the device,I was thinking that maybe the problem is that I need the driver software? the CD that came with the scanner is the user guide and it doesn't even work,I tried to find it at Uniden website but they only have the software of the older models. can someone help me here?? Thank you!!
