BC786D PC Programing

Good to read so many of us still using the 785D I was wounding
if anyone every tried programming the unit using a PC? I have bin
Trying for two weeks now with no luck. I even installed a serial
port and drivers on my PC but still no good. All I get is Radio is not
connected. If anyone out there in Forum land can offer any help with
this problem It would be greatly appreciated. PS: I did have the scanner
in PC Control mode.

Follow these steps.

1. Go to the Windows Device Manager. Check that the serial port is working normal and see what the port number is.
2. Go to the scanner menu and check that the baud rate is the highest for that model.
3. Go to the software and set the port and baud rate to the same from step 1 & 2.

That's it.

If it still doesn't work then I would investigate the cable. Should be a straight thru meaning pins 2 & 3 on one side matches pin 2 & 3 on the other side.
