You have not answered the first question.

Please see this Microsoft Article.

And to save you from looking for anything on your own, you can use the attached zip files (multiple files due to upload limits on the site.)
Lou - not to be mean, or anything, but.....
Three things:
1. That's illegal. You are violating a copyright, held by Microsoft Corp.
2. If Vista doesn't have it, it most likely won't work. Those files, along with registry settings are specific to their Windows Version, and last I checked wouldn't work, even though I have never tried with vista, I tried with Windows 98 and XP Home.
3. It ain't free, but I use Esker Smarterm for that type stuff without issue. It is great software.

My user manual had the suggestion about pressing "E" after selecting th Baud rate. I still have the problem.

The next hurdle I encountered after getting the thing into remote mode and the E pressed was making sure the baud rate on the 898 was the same as what the software's setting was. I think you set the baud rate on the 898 before pressing E.
If this doesn't work use the Forum Search, go to advanced and try 898 (the search term may have to be a bit longer than 3 characters). More than 1/2 the hits you'll get will be related to PC comm problems.

Well, talk to Microsoft. They are the ones said it was available anywhere on the Internet.

I have removed the zips, since Rick has provided a different link.

I think that the XP version will work fine in Vista, but since I have no intention of using Vista until the next OS is at least announced, I won't know for a few years.
