Thinking of picking up a new base scanner is this a good base scanner ??? BC898T ,, thanks. or is uniden coming out with a new base scanner.

The scuttlebutt says that the owner's manual is pitiful at best, but the scanner works well enough - should be a good step into the milair world as well, if you're interested in that. Note that it doesn't do P25 (no digital, another words) and no alpha tags (but software can handle that - you'll see and log tags on your PC).

it might be worthwhile to join the 898 yahoo group listed there so you can pick up tips and tidbits that the horrible owner's manual doesn't mention.....73s Mike

hey thanks... I have other radios just wanted one for analog trunking ,, my 2052 the display has burned out and is hard to read, works good tho....
