Do you have the DMR Entitlement activated on your scanner? Sweetwater PD, FD, and Utilities all use DMR in the VHF Band.

Why can I not get Sweetwater tn. police dept on BCD536HP scanner?
As others have said you need the DMR upgrade to be able to monitor similar systems, however, Sweetwater PD appears to be using a different system now.

I used to hear them regularly but since the beginning of last year, they have been silent. I have tried about 8 different repeater pairs that are licensed to the city but haven't found them.

I have searched but cannot find it
All the information you need to upgrade your scanner to monitor DMR is detailed on the link below... It tells you:
  • how much the upgrade costs
  • where to get the upgrade
  • the information you will need to get the upgrade
  • how to download and install the upgrade into your scanner
Click this link and read it all very carefully, it will answer all your questions.

As it mentions there, be sure you have the latest versions of the Sentinel software, and the latest firmware version for your scanner.

Have they switched over to TACN?

Not sure. It's certainly possible they went that route but I would guess they either drastically reduced their output power or they've moved to a different VHF pair that hasn't been identified yet.

Their current license for the city is for P25 Phase I 800 MHz. So monitor those frequencies on discovery mode?
