Welcome to the RR forums. Put your RR premium subscription to use and program via Proscan. The BCD160DN & 260DN are newly supported models. 30 day fully-functional free trial then $50.00 gets you two activations. Best Uniden scanner app, bar none!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The BCD160DN will NOT trunk track so I'm hoping for your sake that said "digital frequencies" are P25, DMR and/or NXDN conventional

Does anyone know how to program a Uniden bcd160dn scanner to receive digital frequencies?

Except the BCD160DN doesn't decode P25. It only does NXDN and DMR (and analog of course).
Looking at the OP's county in the database, I'm not sure that the 160DN will be the right unit for that area.

For the county Sheriff's office, they appear to be using several conventional channels in mixed mode, listed both as an analog channel, with the same frequency also noted as using DMR.
Example:

The 160DN can deal with that, programming the frequency twice, once as conventional, the other as DMR.

However, county fire is also using mixed mode, but other than an analog channel, the corresponding digital channel is using P25, which is beyond the capabilities of the 160DN.

This model would be able to hear the analog channels, but not if the digital channel was in use.

Also, I'm not sure that the database entries for this county are accurate. Henderson County is covered by TxWARN P25. Looking at that system, I see a number of talkgroups listed for Rusk County:

If the TxWARN TGID's are actually being used, then the BCD160dn would not be capable of monitoring many of that county's active channels, since this model does not handle P25, nor is it capable of handling trunked systems. The 325P2, with the DMR upgrade, would be a better choice, though the price range is significantly higher. Another option would be to look for a good condition, previously owned Whistler WS1080 or WS1088 scanners. These can get a free upgrade to handle DMR, and would also handle the P25 channels, both conventional & trunked. (The WS1088 would be the better choice, as it has a keypad, but either of these models will work.) There are several postings in the classifieds for previously owned Uniden 436HP scanners, at a decent price. That's more scanner than the OP actually needs, but if the price is right, it would be a good move. If not already upgraded, the DMR upgrade ($60 from Uniden) would be needed presuming that the DMR channels are still being used.

I'm way too far away to verify exactly what modes are used for dispatching in the county. But since there is some doubt as to what exactly being used, I'd suggest that this thread be moved to the Texas forum. Hopefully, someone in that vicinity can confirm current usage patterns.

If clarification can be accomplished, then the corrected/updated details should be submitted to the database.

It is not a P25 DIGITAL phase 1/2 scanner. You need to purchase a Bearcat BCD325P2 handheld scanner. Yours is analog with additional features of the Bearcat BC125AT.

As stated many times here and also stated at Uniden IT COMES WITH BOTH DMR and NXDN it does not Work on P25 or TRUNKING.
buddrousa-Many consumer's are going to purchase this due to its steep price thinking it is P25 digital and maybe a mind-set that it replaces the Bearcat BC325P2.....I knew this would happen.
Stay safe,
Bob

Did you even read my review 2 days after it was released?
To be fair, I didn't know it existed either. With 11k posts I'm sure you've been around the block many more times than I have but sometimes these sites can be tricky to navigate. With that said I found this post via searching, so IDK.

I will see if I can dig into your post history and find it?!

I mean I'm on page 5 of your post history and still haven't found an obvious review post for this device, I mean, I get that like you're maybe an expert here and know everything that's going on but a lot of us don't.

Are there lazy men and women who want everyone to do the work for them, absolutely, but some of us are here legit trying to find and look for information on a scanner or device. Granted I read a lot more than I post, but would it hurt to spend a minute and link your review post? Because I'm curious about it but cannot easily locate it. Again....I'm not the 11k post dude

I was wondering why they were on the cheaper side compared to others, but there must be a need for these somewhere.
You can program with aftermarket software . downloading from software OK , but reading from scanner gives a error . I am unable to use Uniden BCD260DN ss . I wasted $ 350.00 .
