I am having issues using a BCD325P2 on Motorola DMR Tier III trunking system.

My SDS100 and SDS200 work on this system, but when I program the 325P2 on the same system, in the same manner, it never stops on any traffic. If I manually scroll through the site frequencies, I hear clear voice and see the talkgroups displayed, but in scan or search mode, it never stops scanning.

It does seem to work on Motorola Connect Plus systems.

I assume the 325P2, like the SDS100 and 200, uses LCN numbering, as opposed to LSN's or Channel ID numbering.

This is the system: Broward County Local Government Trunking System, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Squelch is on 2. Each tower site has its own frequencies and separate control channel.

I've been having this issue since Paul Optiz was around. Never got a resolution.

No, I have 1.08.01. But I see there are upgrades, so I will upgrade and see what that does.

Mr. Ortiz may have passed on, but Uniden has not, and still actively support all their scanners of this past decade.

Mr. Paul Opitz (R.I.P.)

Yes, it did seem like Paul had lit a fire under Uniden’s scanner division and that fire went out with Paul’s passing. That may be partially true. But I believe the pandemic had more impact on the world’s workforce, causing slowdowns and temporary shutdowns (which in turn caused supply chain shortages).

And while the Uniden tech dept may not have missed a beat, Uniden public relations went silent. And I believe that silence was what caused people (myself included) to believe Uniden Scanners had gone the way of Mr. Opitz. Paul did wonders for Uniden’s public persona which (it seems) sunk back down to being very secretive without Paul. I can understand the competitive nature of the business but it was not only on the R&D and sales side, it permeated over to what passed for their parts dept. I requested (pre-pandemic) an entire case cover, both front and rear and including keypad buttons to allow for a “like new” appearance for my BCD436. After numerous phone calls that got me nowhere I wrote them in Texas. A long story short, I got all I had asked for in spare parts at no charge… in an effort to apologize for their giving me the runaround while simply ordering spare parts! But I’m sorry to report their parts dept (if there even is one anymore-I believe they direct all requests for parts to the repair dept where you need to return the unit and pay their flat repair fee), is just as tough to work with and that’s after you finally get through to someone.

They are, but there was a long period of time after the passing of Paul Opitz where there were no firmware upgrades for anything. I was stuck in that time period.

Yes. COVID really threw a wrench into working on anything.
