I accidently turned all the groups off on one of the SO.
now the scanner says nothing to scan. If I press hold I can manually go through the channels.
How do I re-enable?

Press and HOLD the FUNC key on the leftside of the radio, then the GQK # (after FUNC), F should show in the top left corner while FUNC is enabled.

Pressing hold, bring up a channel on one the groups in SO1. As you can see here

Group SO1, has a x even if I try function and pressing the associated quick key.

you've locked out the Sites' Frequency, scroll to that and unlock it, or use the Menu go into System and/or Site and unlock. then do the FUNC and Number once the systems freq is unlocked

Yes I checked that via menu.
menu>program system > chose system> scroll to edit system, scroll to set lockout. Not locked. Yes I have a cable. Looks like I'll have to use a pc and re-enable if I can. This makes no sense why once you turn them off it permanently disables the systems.

Edit, took one system and rekeyed the quick key with a greater number that I wasn't using which enabled it and enables all the rest now scanner is working.

It appears to me that Group Quick Key 1 for System Quick Key 1 has been disabled/turned off.

The steps in Post #2 should have enabled/turned on that Group Quick Key. However if your fingers aren't fast enough, it may not work. I believe you have 2 seconds to toggle Group Quick Keys after pressing the Function button.

I think you might have been looking at the System's settings, but the Group settings are further down in the System, which is where you needed to be.

Nope. Go program in SO1 with 5 groups of stuff. Now use function and disable all 5. Now let's see u re-enable. It won't re-enable them.

Like I said above, since I only used 5, I reassigned 1 to 7 and saved and it enabled it so I enabled 2,3, 4 and 5 and viola back in business. Then reassigned 7 back to 1 and its all working.

To be honest, I've had my challenges with group quick keys on the 96 series scanners. Whenever I've hit those stumbling blocks I end up re-loading my programming.

With "Nothing to Scan" the scanner isn't in any system or SQK collection. So, F+GQK doesn't do anything. IIRC, the steps to enable that GQK would be while scanning to F+Scroll to a system that is in SQK1 then, while F is still active, press 1 to enable GQK1 for that SQK.

Just tried locking all QKs again and tried f+scroll and sure enough you can re-enable. Sweet. A lot easier then the way I did it by going through several menus.

Ah, yes, .01, sorry. Didn't really bring one of each model with me on vacation, so was going from (bad) memory. I did bring 4 guitars, though. :)
