I just got my scanner couple weeks ago and had it programed to my local Kansas City, Missouri Police. Gets calls a little gargled and POPa keeps flashing whats that mean? I just need all the help I can get with my new scanner. If there is a DUMB *** button on it I need it Please help with you can

New radios from Uniden are, according to reports, handling this better.
Now for you 'POPa' flashing, i have no clue.

What haws helped the garble or voice sounding like they are under water, is changing the modulation from nfm to fm. You can either change each channel or globally do it with freescan by clicking the scanner tab, and hitting the band plan tab. Change the 848 and up to fm, then for the vhf i changed the tab vhf high band to fm. Several people have said this didn't work while others said it worked for them. It a simple "try" to get a fix. But this has fixed the audio for me.
